I can't hear you I'm dissociating and playing Morrowind on my 2012 iMac running Linux.

@Geojoek Is it BG3-thirty yet?

@croyle
so a few years ago, I tried playing Dragon age and I don’t know if I am into that style of RPG video game. I really like the first person exploratory aspect of the elder scrolls games, although I got very tired of the fetch quest spoon feeding aspect of Skyrim even though the game is gorgeous and remains one of my favorite games.

@Geojoek People have different tastes for sure. Being a D&D rule-based, turn-based RPG this is exactly my cup of tea! Add the fact that it's so goddam well done (zillion of perfect reviews) and I am just in love with the game... But I know other people that prefer strategy or tactical or FPS or whatever. My wife prefers Assassin's Creed, with an open world and button-mashing combat she doesn't have to think about. So whatever works for you!

@croyle
Yeah I’m a big fan of open world and good story + making the player have to think and remember things and solve puzzles beyond just using combat to solve everything and be conscious about relationship and reputation affecting events in the game, which is why I really like Morrowind so far. I have been told I should try assassin’s Creed. And I’ve tried to play assassin’s Creed but, you know, Ubisoft launchers.

@Geojoek Yeah, that why these days most of our games we play on the PS5 where bugs and such are much less frequent, at least... And we don't need a crazy modern PC with a $700-$2,000 video card to play a new AAA game at normal performance. :).. BG3 does a great job at decisions & outcomes impacting the storylines & such, including some with really no good choices, just bad and worse. I'm deeply into stories, writing/dialogue, character relationships, etc. that the game excels at.

@croyle @Geojoek a friend and I are playing through BG3 right now!
Really enjoying it. But I think the most impressive thing we've collectively noticed is just how damn smooth and seamless the multiplayer integration is, at least on PC. It just works! ™️
Never was into DND or anything but the pacing of the game is quite enjoyable.

@nebriv @Geojoek I think Patch 8 (coming soon) is supposed to allow multiplayer on the same PS%, so we're hoping to have my wife and I on our PS5, and our son on his PS5 up in his apartment at school... I was always a D&D guy so it was super easy for me to adapt and yeah the pacing is good, and you get some freedom in what order you want to do things in. That's very helpful for me on the harder mode I'm playing right now!

@croyle @Geojoek whoa that'd be an awesome update! You don't see that feature in too many games.
Agreed, it's got just enough open world to explore without getting buried in side quests until boredom.

@nebriv @Geojoek And thankfully you can miss or skip a lot of side quests if you're so inclined. I missed a bunch of them on my first playthrough. :)
