Apple are being *ssholes on their new macOS update. They turned on Apple Intelligence on my settings (previously set to off) so I had to turn it off again, and they've added an AI-based "Image Playground" that they won't let you delete, shades of frisking Microsoft... The weird thing is you can delete the app in iOS, but not the Mac. GRRRRRRR!

For #Caturday here is a photo of Lancelot, the stray who got himself adopted by my son... Last week he found the cat's owner & it turns out Lance was an escapee who'd been outside missing for well over a month. He's been returned to his home now, although we'll miss the little sweetie, and I'll miss the 500 bucks I spent on getting him fixed up lol!

Just got back from a quick trip the the hardware store, where a Range Rover was crawling through the parking lot at less than 5mph, with oil smoke pumping in vast quantities from both exhaust pipes. In the old days of Formula 1, that's when Steve Matchett would say "Kerblammo! That's game over, son."

I had a fun time running my new Pathfinder campaign again this week. The players encountered a reluctantly polite robot-like creature, so I took the opportunity to insert a little Murderbot-ish snark... Then they got to the semi-boss fight and won out without too much difficulty. At 2nd level, things can turn really bad really fast but they managed to dodge those bullets. They still have a couple of fights and such to wrap up this first chapter. I'm enjoying it so far.

[#]photoOfTheDay is something a bit different! This large sculpture was one of several unique ones on display at a rural residence on the Northern California coast. To say that it caught my attention the first time we drove past it would be an understatement! Mr. Skeleton was about 8 feet tall IIRC.

New antenna update: I figured out why my radio wouldn't tune the antenna on 80M and let's just summarize that as PEBKAC... The good news is that in the past few days I've been able to make POTA contacts on 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, and 40m. The 10m was about 2,400 miles too. So far so good, I just need to attempt a contact on 80m now, which will be a new #POTA band for me, my 9th.

[#]PhotoOfTheDay is of absolutely beautiful blue-green wave color on the south shore of the Big Island of Hawaii. This is the southernmost point in the 50 states of the US, at something like N18º 54'... If you go straight south from here, in the direction of the photo, other than the occasional island there's nothing but ocean until you reach Antarctica about 6,500 miles away.

Microsoft tried to increase my monthly Office 365 subscription fee because of the added AI BS etc. so I cancelled. I hope many others do too. They also had a small box for feedback so I let them know why I cancelled, and that I think they're absolutely evil. 😁
