@vruz @fay59 I mean, the thing is, the Chinese government is certainly repressive and shitty, but they're a lot less dangerous to AMERICAN users of social media than their own government is. Like, what, the DOJ is gonna subpoena data from Red Note? That won't be very successful. Why would an American teenager give a shit what some corporation or government department in China does with their data?
