These aren't pending "research problems". AGI for any definition of AGI that feels like science fiction is fundamentally impossible on modern digital computing as we know it based on discrete approximation of ideal continuous vectors.

There seem to be a few people who still don't understand that legality, due process, elections, food safety, travel safety, etc that the US used to do can't be guaranteed anymore not even in their usual flawed form.

Crying about the flawed legality of it all is no deterrent to Nazis and mobsters.

The problem is not that Nazis and mobsters exist, the problem is that you were unable to tell them apart from valid political opposition. You were unable to see them as the enemy. The problem is you.
