hmm. @tef do you think long form blog posts in mostly lowercase contribute to your popular perception as an aloof genius whom people do not wish to correct? if this is the case i might start a blog to share accomplishments and exposés into my experiences whilst hedging against "HEY HAVE YOU CONSIDERED $X" bullshit remarks which i am deeply reactive to

i'm full of progesterone rn and i want to wax on about how i finally moved a machine off a years old Manjaro install despite, decades prior, rolling my own Linux From Scratch before even knowing LFS was a formalised thing, to counter the notion that i am possibly a misguided n00b and rather just someone who enjoys some damn convenience sometimes (and yes i know Manjaro sucks which is why i switched to Arch on said thing)

@arrjay extremely legit, i'd run Debian too on this machine o' mine but i need that bleeding edge going right to the veins. makes me feel alive. my cattle though? all Debian Bookworm, Docker or K3s now. merciless

@xan I called my "linux from scratch before lfs" "zervix" (german for cervix ;) then I switched back to slackware which is nice and simple and not stale but I'm eyeing chimera. many edges, much bleed. I would try nix but I'm not up to date on their nazi thing so I'm not

@xan i think it's maintaining a grouchy personality and being block happy with angry comments that contributes to my reputation as a hermit savant

but, well, my writing style has evolved to be a lot more defensive, carefully hedging earlier statements

or raising the questions people will be asking, so they stick to the text and carry on to the end of the paragraph

at the end of the day, diogenese hung out with dogs and slept in a real big jar, it's all about vibes

@xan it helps that i wrote "technical note" or "notes to self" and hammered down expectations in the first paragraph
