Fedi/Mastodon search question:

I use Mastodon via browser, not an app.

I've noticed recently that my search results (whether by posts, profiles or everything) are limited to 10 results and nothing more recent than November 2024. Anyone else had this? Any ideas for how to fix it (other than using an app)?

@thesweetcheat Mine scrolls down further than ten on posts, but if you can't then you might be able to add "before:2024-11-01" on the end of your seach and get the next ten. Then repeat with the earliest date of those posts and keep repeating as long as you need to. Can't think of any other way, but maybe there's something else which would work better. Obviously, this would only work for posts, not profiles.

@Vibracobra23 my problem is not being to get any results later than November last year. This has only started happening recently, so I wonder if it's the result of an update?

@Vibracobra23 I've just tried adding after:2024-11-13 and get no results at all, but I can get results for 13 November if I add after:2024-11-12. Weird!

@thesweetcheat Maybe. I can get later and earlier posts, so it might be instance specific. You could try "after:2024-11-30", or whatever date it ends.

@Vibracobra23 @thesweetcheat I only use the browser. Just tried search and nothing newer than last Nov for any of us three in my search results.

@thesweetcheat @Spaceways I would think that it's instance specific. Mine is fine. I'd search on my postcards account, but it doesn't have search results for posts, just for people and hashtags. Doesn't have any trending posts either. It's quite basic.
