The cellular cable is the one to the left. I realized I left it connected (though it has no service) and I popped it off after taking the shell back off.

@RalvrWuff I've got everything to do it for you if you'd like later. You just need to get your sleep study results for setting it up. ;)

@LeoBurr These things have cellular interfaces? Holy crap. I guess they can't rely on WiFi being available everywhere they're being used?

@zorinlynx The way insurance has it set up, they generally won't approve purchase of a CPAP; they do it via rental. And they use the serial # which is tied to an online service (MyAir) to pull data on usage, which includes time you're asleep, when you've had different apneas, their duration, air pressures through the night, etc.

But it obviously also includes location information on you via cellular and whether you're awake or not. Not fucking cool.

But most importantly whether it's being used.

If you don't use the CPAP ~72 days for at least 4 hours for the first 90 days, they view you as being out of compliance and they take back the CPAP.

I strong-armed my insurance with my high deductible ($3200/year) met to let me purchase mine. The company who sold it to me just called me yesterday and had comments.

"You know your seal isn't very good."

It's fine. Check the last 3 days.

"Also, your settings differ from your prescription."

Yeah, my prescription's numbers were off, because we didn't do an overnight clinical, so I looked at my results and adjusted them. There's free software out there to do analyses.

"Wow, most of our customers don't do that and wouldn't know how to."

I'm not most of your customers. BTW, I'm removing the cellular connection to this device, so you won't be able to look at my data anymore. The unit has been purchased outright, so I no longer need compliance tracking. Thanks.

@LeoBurr @zorinlynx Weirdly enough, up here, our supplemental insurance covered I think their usual ~80% of @Beantoes ' CPAP, and once a year she can get new mask, hoses, etc.

Unless they're just eating the data costs, I'm pretty sure hers is paired via Bluetooth to an app on her phone and it just shares that data that way. I know they can remote manage it, but she can also set a bunch of stuff herself like the air pressure, temp, humidity, etc

Reviews/checkups all included at no extra cost

@kithop @zorinlynx @Beantoes If it's a model like mine, a Resmed, they're all cellular, and I think they eat the costs.

I bitched enough until I got 100% coverage. I just need a continued RX for them to cover hoses, masks, etc. at 100%.
