Hottest of spicy takes: The app isn't that bad, and after setting up the speakers I never use it. Just AirPlay from the Music app.
I'm just pissed that I bought the soundbar and subwoofer and they were updated days later.
(I know I could have sent them back, but it would have been a thing)

@ChrisLawley Do you think AirPlay (from the phone) is a good enough solution for multi room streaming ? I can’t get into it.
I need my player to be standalone. I always play from an HomePod and then add other HomePods. (And I hate that I can’t control the HomePod via the Apple TV Music App.)

@ChrisLawley I don't know if the app caused it, but now my reliability for AirPlaying to my Arc has gone down to like 20% of the time. (Doesn't even show up in the AirPlay listing.) Makes me cranky.

@dmoren Interesting! I’ve never not had the option to airplay to my Arc. I have had way more issues trying to AirPlay to my Homepods than I have my Sonos stuff.

@ChrisLawley I think it's partially network related too. My UniFi Dream Router does not always seem to play well with Sonos's network connectivity. :/

@dmoren That would make sense unfortunately. I’m about to rip all my homepods out and replace them with Sonas stuff.

@ChrisLawley @dmoren Please don’t make me add “Sonas” to my Sonos mute filters. ;)

@ChrisLawley I agree. I always use airplay or spotify connect. And my TV sends the sound through HDMI CEC. I truly don’t understand the issue. Are people living inside the app?

@ChrisLawley @Techmeme I almost never use the Sonos app but when I do I don’t notice anything particularly bad about it. Though, I pretty much exclusively use it for grouping/ungrouping speakers and never actually initiate music (regardless of source) from the app.
