I'm not quite sure what I make of Punch Drunk Love. I'm not v familiar with Sandler, but his performance here was possibly even more compelling than that in Uncut Gems. Mortimer was undeniably a variant on the pixie dream-girl, albeit happily an older one. But it was absolutely the paintings and above all the soundtrack which made the film. Take those away, and I'm not sure how much is left. I think it will stay with me, though.
