We have a 5G wireless access point for home internet (because Comcast) and it’s gone from 300 Mbps to over 500 Mbps this winter and I’m pretty sure that’s just from trees between us and the tower shedding their leaves.

You’d be amazed how much trees affect wireless signals. That’s one reason cell towers are such eyesores, they need to stand proud of the trees to work at all.

AT&T crews have been trenching and stringing fiber in our neighborhood (at last!) but I’ve heard actually getting service activated to each home is not exactly a rapid process. So I’ll probably see the 5G speeds dip again this spring.
