As you may have already guessed from my musings on ancient statues, we were at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Trier yesterday. There we saw these two cute mosaics. Both mosaics are from Trier and they date to the third century AD.

@CatoTheYoungest that museum left me seriously impressed. Some of the artefacts, like a beautiful glass cage cup gave me proper Stendhal syndrome. I remember a room with a huge mosaic with the Muses among the others

@luigirenna There is a giant room with mosaics. They claim that this is the largest collection of mosaics north of the Alps. Those two smaller mosaics where my favorite though.
