So cool when messages from one side of my house to the other have to traverse us-east-1 first. What an utterly bizarre world.

@tilde I keep wondering how close we are to full-house #meshtastic smart home setups

@phildini A lot of the newer smart home standards seem to be designed for standalone operation without an upstream network connection. But it just takes one badly-made device to make things flaky when offline. Still, I'm not sure LoRa even has enough capacity for this? Like, sure, good enough for lightbulbs & whatnot, but not cameras or speakers? Or maybe it's just the control channel and they send bulk data some other way like WiFi?

@tilde Why I hate NAT.
(Yes, this could be avoided by discovery of being on same LAN, but that's flaky and extraneous.)
