Separate-but-related-to anything around moderation, the Bluesky opt-in labeling system is one of best pieces of social media tech I’ve seen in years, and the fact that we don’t have something like this in most #ActivityPub implementations is actually a failing I reckon

Hey, if you follow #BayArea politics (hi #alamtg, #oakmtg). you’ve probably heard of this thing called “ABAG" -- the Association of Bay Area Governments. They pass resolutions that cities abide by around things like housing and transit.

Btw, https://civic.band is part of my effort, here, and I should probably blog about how.

The short version: one way we can make people's lives better is giving them the tools to take action in their own communities. The most impact for most folks is in their own cities.
