Finally got this printer's drawer hung in my office. I plan to display my childhood Hot Wheels in it, but I need to solve the problem of the cars being just a little bit wider than the drawer is deep.

@jimbush awesome awesome drawer!!! excellent piece š„³ and the cars could stand on tiny transparent ramps per nook?

@Heliograph
I hadn't thought about ramps. I wonder what I can find/make that will work.....

@jimbush maybe a really thin wooden layer, thin like cigar boxes used to be, or some fine cardboard from packaging, or just pieces of glass cut from old mirrors or windows?

@jimbush or those fancy camembert boxes š I keep smol stuff in those https://www.cheeseandyogurt.co.uk/products/copy-of-cheese-boxes-wooden-medium-size (this is a random link from the web)

@jimbush and whatever the layer will be, just use some blue tack to arrest at the drawer side (so it remains invisible)

@Heliograph I could go to the local home improvement store and get a bunch of kitchen counter laminate samples.....

@jimbush
LOL Flatten the other side that you don't see with a big hammer?
or squeeze them in a vice?
A real suggestion would be to cut strips of a veneer or sturdy cardboard to the width of the car and glue it to the shelf beneath them?
If it was notched neatly, 1 strip could go all the way across

@Rory29
That's what I'm thinking. A matching strip of something thin and sturdy will do the job.

@jimbush
They are not heavy
It is a great thing to use
I used to have lots of matchbox toy cars
