Opened the issue to remove a link to twitter/X on SciPy.org website, and got confronted by people who run SciPy's #twitter account - talking about "neutrality", importance of being apolitical, and how bad Mastodon and Bluesky are doing... 🤮

Laurels of running a science column in a modern Völkischer Beobachter are apparently too nice to part with.

@dimpase Fascinating that some GitHub contributors think that supporting an X link means "staying out of politics". Either disingenuous or incredibly naive.

@galaxy_map @dimpase for some reason I keep thinking about how science used to be 100% men and it was, you know, totally neutral and apolitical back then too. let's not make it political by suggesting that maybe women could do science
