Ancestors

The Black Wood of Rannoch is one of the largest areas of remaining ancient pine forest in Perthshire. It is a living monument, with some trees thought to be about 400 years old. I was lucky to walk through it on a particularly beautiful day.

@kristiedegaris Was privileged to live in Killiecrankie for one summer in the 1980s and yes, the woods have a timeless quality I haven’t seen elsewhere. I got the sense that the whole ecosystem, especially in the glens and forests, is in no hurry.
