I sense a near future where the US will strong arm the EU into not fining US tech companies for violating EU laws. Since they are now cozying up with Trump and seem to be planning to protect US companies from foreign governments. So I wonder then, when will the EU outright ban the companies in question? Meta and X are complete no-brainers, just ban them. Bigger giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Apple are a bit harder to deal with.

Is this when the EU realizes that relying on proprietary US tech is not a good thing? Could this be the time when we finally realize that we should use open and free standards, operating systems and software for our governments etc? One can dream...

As a response to the US hostility we can create a FOSS-Aligned Framework for Organizations that EU governments must follow. Or FAFO for short.
