Toot

Today we finished #Halo 2. This game really deserves a proper remake that fixes some of its issues instead of "just" overhauling graphics like the Anniversary edition did (it looks great though). I did not understand several aspects of the story before reading it on Wikipedia. The music deserves to be played in the right places, etc.

I did also read on the (original) game's development though and wow, it sounds horrible. I read a lot of game dev stories but that one is one of the shocking ones.

@wildrikku I am not sure if I want to play Halo 3 or any other Halo game of the MCC. According to Reddit, they all have the same problems. I did have 13 hours of fun for 2,49 € though. So the question kinda boils down not to "is it worth the money", but to "is it worth the time I'll spend playing it" and the answer might be "yes, because I won't play it alone". Like Resident Evil 5 before, the game was way more fun and its flaws were more bearable because I played it in co-op.

@wildrikku Reach is probably worth a go if you got it with the MCC. The story, as (mostly) its own thing, is straightforward albeit pretty bleak.

The difficulty curve is more of a difficulty rollercoaster though.

@beeoproblem That's the first one, right? Interesting, I've mostly been discouraged from playing the first one, which is the reason why I did not buy the MCC. Difficulty rollercoaster applies to Halo 2, too, imo...

@wildrikku It's the last one developed by Bungie. Continuity wise yes, it takes place immediately before Halo.

The first Halo game released is just Halo or Halo: Combat Evolved

@beeoproblem ah! I assumed it was the first one because I knew the Reach thing was what started the events in the story. I did not know it was not the first game published. Thanks.
