[#]ClimateCrisis is too big. Too daunting. Too overwhelming.
Let’s talk about one number: How many millions of barrels of oil did we burn on Earth yesterday?
105 million barrels
That’s one day.
For the last 20 years, this number has continued to increase. In 2018, we reached 100 million barrels of oil consumed per day globally. This number has only increased every year since, not including the small downturn in 2020.
2025 projections: 106 million📈
This is the wrong direction!

This number needs to decrease.
Ask politicians, companies, state officials, organizations, your banks, your boss, what are we doing to decrease this number? Show me the plan.
There’s some fairytale thinking out there that the oil consumption can continue to grow even while we bring down carbon. It’s bullshit.
Big oil sees climate change policy as a threat to their bottom line.
Flip the script: Their bottom line is a threat to our world. All of us.
We cannot continue as we have.
