I've used Duck Duck Go as search engine for a while now and it was good - bar the times when a banner popped up to 'try DDG Search' which I thought I used already, so checking it got me to the Play Store to download their app, which I didn't want.
Going back into my browser then threw me into a loop of instantly being taken back to the PlayStore.
It took effort to overcome it and I rewarded DDG by replacing it with
QWANT search. It seemed slower at first, but fine now.
Opinions?

@Antigrav I am starting to use Startpage. So far, so good. No doubt though someone will be along shortly with reasons why not to use it!

@paulhellyer , thanks for that, looks and sounds good. Have to give it a try.
I'll start on my phone with their browser app and see how it compares.

@Antigrav You may find this article helpful, Joe. While slightly Apple-centric it covers all the major search engines from a privacy perspective pretty thoroughly.
