@jon I have a gas car that is about 10 years old. I want my next car to be at least hybrid if not plugin hybrid. I live in an area where longer trips are not convenient to charge because the network isn't built up yet in the places I would go to…maybe it would change by then

@jon Technically, "walking" is not a transportation vehicle. It should read sneakers/boots. ;-)

No, leave it as it is. The intention is clear. I just couldn't resist pointing out the odd choice in this list.

I want to point out, too, that the mode of transportation depends on distance. Day-to-day shopping on foot, city center on foot or with public transport, other end of the city with bike or public transport, commute to work with public transport or bike depending on weather conditions.

Share the car with wifey, she uses it daily while I bike to work, so I think I spend more time on the bike than the car.

@jon Bike, Walk, and Diesel car, but it's very situational based on distance, safety, weather, and if I'm taking kids with me. The past year was a significant increase in walking and biking for me.

@jon I was driving my Smart ForTwo ED (electric drive) so much that my backup gas car's 12V battery kept dying because I would drive it so rarely.

Once in a while I wonder if I should get a luxury car. But I remind myself that the real luxury is being able to park easily/anywhere I want in Chicago.
