I realized that after I published my album last week, I started looking too much at stats & numbers: plays, downloads, boosts...
but numbers do not tell the story - as I perfectly know (I am a bike traveler!).
so, how did this happen?
i think it was mainly because I absorbed the rhetoric of success and numbers pushed by neoliberal society and tech for such a long time that I still struggle to break free from all it implies, even if I am actively engaged against it and against big tech.

realizing it is like when, during meditation, your mind starts wondering and you become aware of that so you bring your focus back to breathing.
it's another step into awareness.
for sure, it is much more important to exchange about what my sounds evoke in who listens than to count stats & stars.
don't get me wrong: i am happy that people listen to my work, but i probably need to develop a slower, deeper approach to the response i get.
does it make sense?
