Let lies reign on their platform, so more crazy right wing politicians get elected. Those come with policies that will make them more money.
They don’t care if the world goes up in flames. All they see is the line going up. That’s why wait and see is too passive imo.

@gruber well it’s had an impact here in Europe. And it will have more impact in the US as well.
No fact checking means more anger posting which snowballs into full on lies and misinformation. It makes the world worse. It elects the MTGs. People echo each others lies. But engagement goes up which is good for meta.
For profit social networks are bad for society. And no fact checking turns them into weapons.
