if you want to see a stark example of the way that the non-profit industry can directly work against the interests of those it purports to help, all you have to do is look at the comments on the government proposal to get rid of sub-minimum wage for people with disabilities. The Arc's in various communities are in the comments fighting against the proposal to preserve the status quo
