Just wanted all the other #Moderation teams watching #FediBlock / #InstanceBlock to know we're experiencing some sort of minor #spam / #troll #raid, which seems to be affecting a few servers. It's only like a couple posts an hour, I'm keeping an eye on the sign ups, and we're going to be bringing on a new moderator we've been onboarding.

These aren't automated, so even if you have protections against automated signups, y'all may want to check your local timeline. Look for wojack / soyjack memes.

Looked over the email accounts they used, found some email providers that everyone should want to block, reposting them on #Fediblock / #InstanceBlock for other #Moderation teams / #FediAdmin to block as well...

I looked over the email accounts that small group of spammers we dealt with last week was using, found some email providers that everyone should want to block, reposting them on #Fediblock / #InstanceBlock for other #Moderation teams / #FediAdmin to block as well...

That's good to know. It means I should probably post these things immediately, and then not bother later.

I will say though, PissMail seems to have been around for a while, and that may be necessary as some Spam Filters use metrics like the age of an email server and how much legitimate traffic it has seen.
