GO-OP rail is a new type of Open Access railway operator that's local, community-based and with a co-operative ownership model that means it is there to serve passengers and workers. It’s all very laudable but is it credible?

Not sure about the nomenclature, but I take it that the "Open Access" bit is what makes it unique. Maybe that's different than "heritage" lines?

@GuerillaOntologist @kawaiipunk @GEO_Collective I don't know about regulations and other details but I suppose a railroad for transportation would want to run a lot more trips than one for fun/tourism? (And thus own more rolling stock and various other consequences).

I just thought it was interesting that there's already these community lines are already running. I'm not sure anyone has ever written about them.
