my hometown is experiencing horrific fires (the LA basin is surrounded by multiple fires and winds are getting worse right now). we've heard from most of our friends that they're safe and evacuating, but I know that people have already lost their homes. if you have spare funds, I would ask you toss a couple to the humane society where we got 3 of our family dogs from, because they're graciously taking in community animals that need help.

hate to sound like a broken record, but in emergencies animal shelters are so crucial in rescuing animals that get lost in the chaos, emergency sheltering pets, and providing the community with animal food (and sometimes people food)! lots of shelters in the LA area are all doing the same thing.
