Plan for the next few years.

• Move away from Ruby and avoid anything built on a fragile mental stake of dependencies.

• Move to Linux, use Hackintosh to keep tabs on Apple related music software.

• Move to Fairphone.

• Delete YouTube and move to PeerTube.

• Delete Google account.

• Check if I have a Microsoft account. If yes, delete it.

• Move to Framework if I want to keep a laptop around.

• Start self-hosting a few services.

• Avoid the news.

• Radicalise.

@m2m I'd be really interested in following along and consuming any notes/documentation that emerges. Other than the Ruby thing, which I'm curious about, I've tried similar movement, specifically de-Googling, and failed for the most part.

Independence means Digital Independence too.

Well, up to having anything to do with uni teaching in the US, as that's all Big Tech*

@m2m Ubuntu runs great on my laptop. Easy as pie, you can test it on yours by booting it from a usb drive.

Deleting Google, whoosh, now that is brave.

Some of those are pretty easy, my Facebook account expires in a week or so.
