Meet @HotWax, which toots about new music released on any given day.
Currently it's scraping a wikipedia page for its data, (shout out to the 'wiki-table-scrape' python package) but if there's a more extensive yet still- easily-scrapeable source for new release info, I'd love to hear about it

I think Hot Wax is on its way. It should scrape the wikipedia 'new releases in 2025' page every night, and then starting in the morning (US Eastern timezone) it will run every half-hour and toot any new releases it hasn't already tooted yet for the current day. (So far the most in a day is like 13, so that should be time to get to them all)

There are four albums dropping on Friday, so in theory @HotWax should send out four toots, 30 minutes apart, starting around 9:00 EST.
...and now it occurs to me that I would love to have a reminder bot that I could DM like Slack's /remind command, which I use all the time
