So the guys who are funding and taking part in the genocide in Palestine + the surrounding region want me to trust them that Tencent are actually really bad because... they may take contracts that are from the Chinese domestic military? The one that, unlike the US, generally stays near their own country?

Does this level of propaganda even play to a domestic US audience? You can't force the 2nd largest military power to forever be just your assembly line servants.

@gob What do you mean? You mean the "other China" that lost their civil war? And is currently an island full of US military might? How did the US react to Russian military in Cuba again?! Just for some world context?

@shivoa I mean you hate the US far more than you hate imperialistic ideas. You seem perfectly fine with the idea the PRC is entitled to getting the ROC "back".

@gob Again, why are you excusing US imperialism by pretending it's just like China when eg Cuba show us exactly how the US Empire reacted to a hostile military force on an island off their coast. Also... the US Empire spans the globe, right up to China's doorstep & continues to work to prevent China from becoming more than just their captive assembly line.

@shivoa Cold-war era political realism. A political theory where there are natural "great powers" who are entitled to an area of domination because it's supposedly the natural, stable order of things. It rejects the idea that smaller and non-aligned powers can have sovereignty, only great powers make decisions.

@shivoa To be extra clear I entirely reject this theory for the imperialistic apologist bullshit it is.

Western allied countries such as Taiwan, Ukraine or even Israel all make their own god damn decisions and aren't "US proxies". Having US security guarantees or even bases is not remotely close to occupation or subservience.

In fact the next US president seems dead set on proving just how little authority the US has over its allies when overreaching.

• Israel is primarily accountable for careless and inhumane prosecution of their war in Gaza, as well as west bank colonialism.

• The US is primarily accountable for the wars they started (e.g. the second Gulf War).

• No country would ever start a war on their own soil on the US behalf because that's insane.

• The US bases across the world reflect the fact the US is still globally a trusted security partner for democracies, despite everything.
