More gatekeeping on a community for a local linked repeater system in my area. Some of the comments go on to say "...you should learn to talk the right way before you transmit so that you don't sound like an idiot..."
The word of the day is empathy. People should strive to be kind to one another instead of striving to define arbitrary phrases as being more right than others.
Reminder: this is a linked repeater system... The post has a lot of discussion in the comments about what's right and what's wrong. The two phrases imply very similar things, and most friendly hams will get on and give some kind of a report that will help the caller determine if they're breaking the squelch of the repeater, their audio levels are good, and they've programmed the right offsets and CTCSS frequency.
I saw this and was just annoyed at how much debate happened over such a simple phrase when the post just needs to be deleted and the OP needs to take a chill pill. 😑
