[#]CatUpdate, I have fed @mcjevans's #cat. Here is a picture of him eating. Now he is walking around the house licking his lips and making weird little cat noises, because I guess that's how he announces to the world that he has been fed or something.

@mcjevans's #cat is now playing with an enclosed ball, because he got the zoomies after being fed. This seems to be a pattern: he sleeps until you feed him, then he gets super excited. This tracks with my understanding of cat adaptation.

[#]CatWatch2025 #CatUpdate: @mcjevans's #cat is stunned, cannot believe I am not paying attention to him. I had the audacity to even sleep, instead of petting him at 6:00 AM.
Am I a monster? Is this a crime?
People, this is the cat from the headlines, "local cat has never been fed", or "local car desperate for pets", or even, "local cat ABANDONED on couch by so-called caretaker who is sitting next to him."
I managed to distract him with things outside the window, but he's still meowing at me whenever I walk by...

jazz up the environment with a rotation of toys (hide the inactive ones in closet or sommat).
reward good behaviour with attention.
'punish' (do not actually punish) 'bad' (unwanted) behaviour by ignoring it and the cat.
It loves you and seeks your attention.
Like a child, they lack easier communication methods to indicate unmet needs.
