@t36s I'll never forget opening for him here in Louisville maybe 20 years ago and he walked around the space, a room at a bar, and was very irritated at the hum of some lights and asked to have them turned off. A totally different and more sensitive energy than I was used to at the time. Here, we just roll with that shit because we sort of have to with sub-par venues and our punk rock backgrounds I guess. 😁

@sellanraa Cool that you opened for him.Yes he's always doing that. He wants to get that super quiet room thing.
One time I saw him perform in Berlin. Andrea Neumann runs a series there called Labor Sonor. I remember that I was totally blown away by how totally quiet I felt the audience was. Afterwards when I was talking with Axel saying how we never get such good listening at home in Stockholm. He said that he was sorry the audience was so loud. The hissing of winter coats was so quiet I felt.

@t36s Haha, that's awesome - I appreciate artists who are never fully happy. Have to always strive for better :)
I'd LOVE to see him again (he actually did a duo with Josh Abrams, an amazing bassist who does Natural Information Society now). They were great.
But also, jealous of even the idea of seeing Andrea Neumann or a series she curates. She's a favorite of mine in that scene along with Annette Krebs :)

@sellanraa Oh yeah totally. I love the whole Echzeitmusik scene. So inspiring.
One time EMS "commisioned" me to write a piece that me and Andrea played at Ausland which is this great venue in Berlin that has meant a lot to me. She is such a great improviser and performer. I am very grateful that it happened.
Oh wow thinking about this now has me thinking I would love to go back to Berlin to play at this venue called km28. That really seems like the new place were exciting music is being made.
