My friend @laurihyvarinen has joined us. He is generally a great guy and plays the guitar very well. I highly recommend you follow this excellent human being.

I recorded five new pitches today. Four of them worked out and are now in the piece. Things are slowly taking form. I moved the rig over from the apartment to the space today and left it sat up there. I am fairly certain that will help speed up the process of getting all of the pitches recorded for the piece well before the heat death of the known universe.

I tried this tiny little software that someone made. At first I couldn’t figure out what was wrong but then I realised what it was. There’s a bug where if you change the amplitude of something there is a small click. Seems to me like there is no interpolation and very few discrete values. It is impossible to, for example fade sine waves in and out without hearing those clicks.

That’s a pretty big bug right there.

To me there are different kinds of “screen time”. Extremely different. Today I had to use a program called AnyDesk way too much. It made me very deeply fatigued. Something about that laggy, half of the time at best responsiveness. It really did a number on my brain. Feels all foggy in there now. I much prefer Ghostty. It’s the fastest, most responsive program I have on my computer. That’s where I want to spend my “screen time”.

I noticed now that the global effects on the auxes do not work when using multiple servers in SuperClean. That is unfortunate. That needs to be fixed. For now I had to use a reverb plugin instead.

I enjoy the ducking feature in FF Pro R2, which is new to me having just tried the older FF Pro R before. I did a thing that sounds maybe like a harpsichord if you squint with your ears.

Senpai helped me get multiple servers with a single SC client working with SuperClean today. Very exciting to now be able to go through more CPU hungry code I have written in the past and split up the load over different cores. Almost can't believe this works now. I can do seven servers in initial tests. Amazing!

Write an essay of at least 12000 words detailing your understanding of The Updated Terms of Service. What if after about 9 months of pretty much full time of if not working on the text itself, then at least worrying about it, obsessing over the disambiguities inherent in natural language, you submit the essay and you get lots of notes. What if the notes were really thoughtful, asking you to give greater detail to your accounts of the key concepts of Giving Consent and The Nature of Self

What if the updated terms of service prompt would interrupt your as-fast-as-possible scroll to the bottom so that the accept link would get clickable to inform you that you were scrolling too fast. What if after having done something else for a couple of minutes you are finally allowed to click the accept button, a test opens up. What if the test was multiple choice at first. Just some easy clicking answers to simple questions about who you are.

But then it got really hard.

I was making some music for a friend to give him as a birthday present. I had the idea to combine the digital signal, panned hard left, with the analog signal in mono. That's when I noticed something strange on the vectorscope.
