If you enjoy using Mastodon for Android, please consider leaving a positive rating or review on the Play Store, because a lot of people who do leave reviews are like this:

@Gargron As far as I remember you can just ask them to get rid of reviews like those that got nothing to do with the app itself and they'll then scrub them.
Probably worth a try for thoseβ¦

@ladon @Gargron yes but realistically the Google play store reviewers are not going to understand the difference between the app and a server

sure, but at least you can prevent them from dragging down the rating of the app with those reviews, since they got noting to do with the status of the app itself.
Probably a bit of work to flag them all to Google but might be worth.

I went looking for those reviews that were critical of the platform and not the app.
I found one of the ones pictured and tagged it as not useful.
But there are a bunch of others and they seem to have legitimate grievances, at least when they were posted. (I saw some dated 2023.)
I continue to enjoy Mastodon via the web interface, which seems to work well on my phone's browser (DuckDuckGo).

This was my experience too: far more legitimate frustrations than ones about the content or the audience.
Bluesky has a very slick onboarding experience and I think the Mastodon app should basically do it almost exactly the same way. (not that I actively use Bluesky).
Edit: FWIW Im a happy Mastodon PWA user.
