You may be wonder why I am posting a photograph of Silk cashew milk at the grocery store. I have only two things to say about the photo. Firstly, I took this photo in New York City, which is in the United States, which in turn writes dates mm/dd/yyyy. Secondly, I took this photo on December 12, 2024. The rest is up to you.

@nafnlj I've been seeing that for decades in American grocery stores--milk, yogurt, soda, eggs, bread, almost any product will be sold past its sell-by date and the store is clueless. 😥

Interesting -- it's not too common at the grocery stores I go to in Brooklyn NYC, including the offending one here. It's more common I'll see something that it is a little bit too close to the use by/sell by/expiration date for comfort than something past it, much less ONE MONTH past, unless we're counting fresh produce. But it is possible that I may miss some things because of what I tend to buy.

@nafnlj it may depend on the store--I have been going to the large chain stores across the country (Albertson's, Kroger''s etc.) who don't really stock themselves, they sell shelf space to various brands who then are responsible for stocking it (or so we've been told, when we complain about stuff being weeks past the sell by date). Smaller local stores are probably better about it.
