Trying out @Vivaldi rn! I'm impressed, and really like the layout and customization. I wanted to get away from google and firefox. I never used @StartpageSearch either but I'm also enjoying it a LOT.
Here's to a better 2025!

@vortexqueen @Vivaldi @StartpageSearch I have too much tied up in google. All my spam goes to gmail, I use it for suscriptions...

@farbel I understand that. I still use gmail atm, but Iād also like to find a better alternative. Still looking tho!

@vortexqueen @Vivaldi @StartpageSearch
You're on the right path! I'm using Kagi* as my default search on Vivaldi. Very nice paring if you are weening yourself off of Google.
I don't mind paying for privacy and to remove ads. So far so good.

@vortexqueen @Vivaldi @StartpageSearch I tried Kagi a while back and it was pretty good, my only concern (and I guess it's the same with Google but not necessarily DDG, etc) is having your entire search history stored within one company and tied to a single account.
Also as with everything else, AI. But that's not unique to Kagi.
Oh and I've been using Vivaldi for a few months now and it works really well. The only issue I sometimes run into is glitches in the dev tools.

@alansuspect @vortexqueen @Vivaldi @StartpageSearch afaik @kagihq doesn't store your search history. Only the number of queries you do (for billing and stats reasons)
