Lovely conjunction between the #Moon and Venus after #sunset! Saturn, Jupiter and Mars are also visible at the same time. Uranus is up there too, but it's not visible without a telescope. (EDIT: Neptune too, close to Saturn)

If you're in a dark enough location to see the #MilkyWay, this is a nice chance to notice that the plane of our Solar System is inclined about 60º with respect to the disc of the Milky Way.

Re: Uranus, given its apparent magnitude of ~5.7 you might be able to spot it by eye from a very, very dark location if you know exactly where it is, but just barely. Even if its within your magnitude limit, crowding of stars with similar brightness will make it hard to pinpoint it. Binoculars or a telescope will definitely help.

@astro_jcm

I looked outside a while ago and saw our lovely Moon and Venus but then checked to see what else was out there (invisible to my naked eyes) and my app is saying Neptune is there.

Is it wrong, or not visible with a home telescope? 🤔

@grb090423 Ah, you're right! It doesn't appear in my screenshot probably due to the magnitude cut that Stellarium applies for such a wide field, but it's definitely there next to Saturn. I'll edit my original post, thanks!

@astro_jcm

Fun fact: juvenile Uranus jokes are as old as the name change from Herschel. So for anyone who may be tempted, it's not being clever, it's being kitch and cliche 😅
