@trys @belldotbz Have you noticed a change in Safari's zoom behaviour recently? Now when I page zoom using ⌘+ and ⌘- the page zooms but the text doesn't, but that only seems to be the case with Utopia-driven text sizing.
Specifically bumping up and down text size (⌥⌘+) still works as expected, but is not default behaviour.
Maybe this has always been the case and Safari has swapped around the default zooming method? Or it's a setting I've inadvertently set and it's only me?

@trys @belldotbz this appears to be new behaviour in either Safari 18.1 or 18.2 (tested on Ventura and Sequoia). Page zoom worked as expected when I tested on 18.01 (Ventura).

@Richr @belldotbz and it resizes text 'correctly' with non-fluid typography? Rems vs. Px?

@trys @belldotbz I did some tests. I think a bug has been introduced where any text with a font-size specified using a calc() no longer changes size with page zoom.
So the following all work except the last one:
font-size:18px
font-size:1.1rem
font-size:1.2vw
font-size: calc(1.1rem)
I'll file a bug.

@jensimmons Jen, I don't know if you're able to point a relevant engineer in this direction?
Regarding this recent accessibility/font sizing bug in Safari (see thread).
I'm filing a bug through official channels, but as it's Safari rather than Webkit, it feels like bug reports go into a black hole never to be seen again. Assuming this is the place: https://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html

@Richr Actually… uh… this is the place to file bugs that funnel to the right place: https://feedbackassistant.apple.com
Reply with the FB number, and I’ll take a look.

@Richr @trys @belldotbz Right, this isn't how it functioned before.
The "un-pinch" method seems to be the zoom method that still sort of works, not adjusting just text.

@Richr
Thank you for digging into this.
It looks like the font-size: calc() problem is specific to macOS Safari.

@cwilcox808 thanks, yes that's my observation too. But only 18.2 or later.
