And speaking of which, for completion I should point you towards https://prismjs.com, a free syntax highlighter developed by
@leaverou and others, and used on millions of websites including mine. It also works in ePub ebooks 😉.

@trys @belldotbz this appears to be new behaviour in either Safari 18.1 or 18.2 (tested on Ventura and Sequoia). Page zoom worked as expected when I tested on 18.01 (Ventura).

@trys @belldotbz Have you noticed a change in Safari's zoom behaviour recently? Now when I page zoom using ⌘+ and ⌘- the page zooms but the text doesn't, but that only seems to be the case with Utopia-driven text sizing.
Specifically bumping up and down text size (⌥⌘+) still works as expected, but is not default behaviour.
Maybe this has always been the case and Safari has swapped around the default zooming method? Or it's a setting I've inadvertently set and it's only me?

All the #AI hype and bandwagon-jumping only goes to feed my scepticism. However I do want to be informed about the genuine possibilities - good and bad. @simon's write-up of his work throughout 2024 is a great place to start. It's pretty long, but check out the headlines at the very least.

With anchor positioning in #CSS, why do we use a CSS property anchor-name
to define the anchor, and not just an id
?
I'm pretty much always going to have to write style="anchor-name: --myanchor"
surely?
Surely an anchor has to be a unique element, so it could be targeted in the same way as you would for an HTML input label?
What have I missed? Perhaps the opportunity to style anchors? But you may as well use a class for that. 🤷

Very sad to see the demise of CHPT3. Some of my favourite clothing - not just cycling gear - is CHPT3. And I really wanted to treat myself to a pair of their Transit shoes.
A sadly different kind of Black Friday for @millarmind and colleagues at https://chpt3.com/
Business can be brutal when you care about your people and the brand.

TIL that the 'i' in the element now stands for 'idiomatic' rather than italic. But would be still be rendered as italic usually.
Because I was wondering how to mark up caveat emptor in a sentence like this.
