@Rajiv @xabean mortgage rates more or less move in concert with the 10 year treasury rate. There is usually an cause/effect relationship between the fed’s short term rate policy and the 10 year rate (though it’s really second or third order impacts), but other market forces are keeping the 10 year rate high, which in turn keeps mortgage rates high. A big factor is, i think, significant concerns about future inflation and the economy over the next few years.
