I'm really thinking of checking out Haiku at some point, just to get a better idea of what it's about, especially for the gaming experience, because it at least has source ports for a lot of games I play!

Not sure of what PC to put on right now though!

From what I've seen of it, it works beautifully well on the humblest hardware imaginable.

No disk encryption or security model at all, though. Its still a 90s OS in that regard.

@rl_dane I was looking at dual booting it with the 32 and 64 bit versions, so I'm able to run older BeOS software on the former, with a more modern setup on the latter!

The only laptop I can think of right now would be my Dell Vostro with i3-6006U, because Windows 10 runs like shite on it anyway, and I imagine that the source ports I'd be using with it are pretty low demand! I probably would want to sort out a 2TB drive for it so I can give the 32-bit version 500GB & 64-bit 1.5TB!

@rl_dane I have a backup/temporary blog at https://stormkeepergu.wordpress.com, but I plan to eventually self-host it on a VPS again, so I'm able to set up multiple blogs with subdomains and domains, but that's still a little time away! I have at least started posting to it again now though, as I have it set up so extracts are posted to here, Bsky, Threads, my Fb Page, and Tumblr, with Birdsite now mostly taking a back seat as I reduce my operations on there!
