I spotted today that my #mythtv-status package was failing to build from source in #Debian. This has caused me to spend some time finishing off a major change to how it is installed, split out the Debian packaging to a different repo (using git-buildpackage).

While having upstream (me) and Debian (also me) code in different repositories will cause over head (for me), it is probably better in general.

Probably tomorrow I'll release the tarball, .deb and upload the new packaging repo to Salsa.

Yak shaving is such a pain.

I thought I'd better test some functionality, but the Lets Encrypt cert on my MythTV server has expired. I'd better fix that first...

(I've already disabled the forced HTTP -> HTTPS for my external gitweb server because fixing TLS on that is a bit more involved.)

Fixed the guide data. Found a few other little things to fix, now all done.

New release of myhtv-status for #MythTV cut, published and uploaded to #Debian.

@puck I appreciate your work (although, is it 'myhtv-status'?)! The #Debian community is splendid, and we (the rest of society) don't really deserve it... but a few of us are thankful even so!

In this case, yeah, mythtv-status. Slightly niche, but a number of people have found it useful. http://www.etc.gen.nz/projects/mythtv/mythtv-status.html

It is the reason I initially became a Debian Maintainer. I then picked up maintenance of a few other packages, and I've since upgraded to be a full Debian Developer.
