In my limited free time this holiday break, I’ve been converting my Wordpress sites to flat HTML files. Nothing I use for my personal websites needs PHP or JavaScript. Lots of code goes away, lots of mess to still clean up.

It really feels good to get rid of the Wordpress bloat.

@jefftml And it’s way more performant too. If you want a little flare later it’s easy to add back a little vanilla JavaScript without it growing into an unmaintainable mess. If you need or want a little more still without impacting performance much, I’d recommend Svelte + Vercel for a personal website.
