Finally installed and trying the new #gecko browser 91.13.1 for #SailfishOS ported by @flypig on Xperia #XA2
Therefore we switched from Sauna-release (4.6.0.15) to Tampella release (5.0.0.43), which is officially only available for the new #JollaC2 but after dist-upgrade the XA2, phone and gecko browser is luckily working! 😃

At first try installing only the needed package listed here https://flypig.co.uk/geckoinstall but to version 91.13.1 from the 5.0.0.43 (Tampella) Sailfish-Repo (by switching Xperia XA2 from Sauna 4.6.0.15 release to Tampella release) was not enough, the browser didn't start. So we started a dist-upgrade to 5.0.0.43 and could reboot with call and browsing functionality 😄 Only a few packages from community repos like storeman are not available.
Thanks @flypig a lot and see dev diary: https://mastodon.social/@flypig/113188908227680299

@pi_crew Amazing work! I'm super impressed you managed to get 5 working on an XA2.
Out of curiosity, is there any noticeable performance impact with the new browser version (e.g. Web pages rendering more slowly) or does it run okay?

@flypig
It seems to run a little bit faster and smoother. The Wifi login page is working also in DB Lounge Wifi (is there any universal accepting-automation to the annoying Wifi login pages?).
Finally I can get train schedule and ticket pricing by https://bahn.de again. (which didn't work anymore this year, logging was working; now there is only an error note which doesn't matter, I didn't try to book a ticket yet)

@pi_crew Thanks for this feedback; it sounds like it is at least working better, if not perfectly. I'm still properly impressed by your effort in getting it all working.
And I'm totally with you when it comes to Wifi login pages. Captive portals have always been a horrible approach in my opinion, made worse by broken implementations. There should be a standard for account creation (although even better would be for services to just drop them and not try to grab user data).
