Hi, Fedi. If you love cats, I have a couple of questions.

My partner, Glild, lost her sweet, 14-year-old kitty a few weeks ago. As you might think, she is very not ok.

We’ve talked about it, and it would be an immense comfort to her to have a physical, stuffed animal representation of her cat. For various reasons, purely visual art is not going to work. She is also not ready to bring another live cat into the mix.

I know there are services that make these. You send over photos and they custom make a stuffed animal version of the pet. I’m looking for word-of-mouth recommendations, as I trust these a bit more than Google at the moment. Here are my questions.

1. Have you used a service like this, like Cuddle Clones, Petsies, or something else? Was it worth all those dollar signs?

2. Are there indie artists/makers/creators who make them? Supporting a person or a smaller team is a preference for the both of us, and honestly, we’re too new to this to know which, if any, of the bigger name companies are truly playing fair.

@Sklent I'm so sorry for your loss. My favourite car passed away exactly three months ago, so I'm gladly boosting your toot. I'd love to have a replica of my cat, too, so I will follow this discussion... Sending hugs from foggy France!
