Toot

i'm pretty close to a #qmk keymap for the #skeletyl keyboard that uses a sophisticated tap-dance: most of my thumb-keys are mapped to tap-hold / mod-tap / layer-tap. but when i hold one such modifier, how do i press another key from the same hand? my tap-dance allows to mimik tapping or holding any "mirrored" thumb-key by double-tapping / double-holding. if that makes sense.

@mekeor This sounds very interesting. I'll be curious to have a look at the layout if you get to publish it at some point.

I'm also on a 36-key keyboard and I've been wondering how to make the best use of all the QMK options. My layout is a close variation of what presented here:

https://fabionatali.com/posts/a-36-key-keyboard-layout/index.html

This was ok-ish, but a bit too heavy on the right thumb because of the key used to activate the second layer. I've now changed this (and also switched to QMK) but still experimenting.

@fnat my qmk keymap.c is publicly available here: https://codeberg.org/mekeor/qmk/src/branch/mekeor/keyboards/bastardkb/skeletyl/keymaps/mekeor/keymap.c

it's a bit complicated. to me, at least. it took me a couple of weeks of experimentation to get to this state. if you want, we could have a video call about my keymap and your needs and possible approaches :D

@mekeor I can't say I fully understand what goes on there, but I see what the layout looks like in the end, interesting!

It'd be cool to talk about this in a call, thanks for offering that. Actually, any chance you might be at {FOS,OFF}DEM in Brussels over the weekend? If not we could have a call next week or the week after next?
