Ok, caffeinated. Now time for some Scheme (yay!) at the Declarative/minimalistic programming track. #fosdem

My life in IT: you think you're too smart to properly learn networking and AWK, then you spend 30 years re-learning networking and AWK ALL THE TIME.

I know this would be massively backward incompatible and it can't be done... but I'd love 'guix shell' to default to '--no-cwd', that's what I want to do 90% of the time.
More than that, regardless of the usage frequency, '--no-cwd' is the safest option and I think it should be the default.
I know... alias etc.

This was to gauge how many #MechanicalKeyboards geeks find annoying that the number keys are ordered 1 to 9 and then 0, instead of 0 to 9.
(This doesn't apply to those layouts that mimic a numeric pad - but I'm not a fan of that approach.)
In my 36-key layout I've been ordering numbers 0 to 9 for a while. I don't think I could go back - but there are inconveniences. Like:

I was looking at #Emacs LSP support in Org Babel blocks and unfortunately this doesn't seem to work yet (Eglot) or it's still experimental/incomplete (lsp-mode).
There seem to be structural reasons that make things a bit complicated, but there's also a possible plan to progress things on the Eglot side, as recently sketched out in the GitHub issue. 🤞

A pretty packed lineup of #Guix / #Scheme / #Lisp sessions tomorrow (a.k.a. day 3, 29th Dec) at the #38c3 Lisp assembly. The following ones will be streamed at https://meet.jit.si/london-guix-meetup, so we're really leaving you no excuse for not attending, hehe. :D
Full list of sessions here:

I think the 38c3 Guix meetup(*) went well today, but now I'm disappointed that nobody double-booked a Nix meetup at the same time and place! That'd have been almost as fun as the Emacs-Vim thing!

This has been such a great and busy start of #38c3! Holy moly, very much of a "Captain, it's day 1" feeling now! Sleep well, see you tomorrow.

People are AWESOME.
A fellow lisper organised an #Emacs meetup at the #Lisp assembly and someone (friendly) trolled us creating a #Vim meetup for the same time, same place! Hilarity ensued.
