Christmas is always a tricky time for me, but on the plus side - lots of books read! Finally finished "Butter" yesterday after putting the hours in. I'd been told it was incredible. I felt differently. Any Fedi thoughts...? #Books #AmReading #Butter #AsakoYuzuki @bookstodon

@hlseward It's been on my to-read list for a while, haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but it's been recommended to me too. It's definitely a book with a niche plot, so it's definitely possible that it appeals more to some people than others, tbh. Generally, I feel that it's totally normal to not love something that is popular, or to actually enjoy something that other people didn't find so good. All part of the magic of reading.

@fringemagnet All very true. I loved the idea and the characters. I just felt it went on far too long, without adding anything past what you get from the first 100 pages. Just my opinion, of course. If you do get round to it, would love to know your thoughts.

@hlseward I get what you mean, I'm not a fan of stories that drag unnecessarily without offering much either. And I will sure let you know, the premise really piqued my interest, so I will give it a chance eventually.
