I hope I’ve not just missed it but the ability to set up a new #Kindle as a clone of an existing one would be incredibly useful.

As would be the option to buy a new Oasis but the latest Paperwhite is really rather lovely anyway.

@simon You can do quick setup on a new Kindle with a phone that has the Kindle app these days, which is maybe close enough to be useful.

@mattgemmell That bit was excellent and saved me quite a bit of setup and linking to my account (it was a Christmas present so not pre-linked) but sadly you can’t migrate from, say, one primary Kindle to a new one and have the content and display settings migrated.

@mattgemmell I eventually used the website to select items and send them to the new device. It’s bot quick and easy but it does allow you to download items in chunks.

@simon I can see the use case for settings, definitely, but maybe not so much content. In Amazon’s view it’s just a window to the store, and you can grab any book in your library with a tap. They don’t care about sideloaded stuff, of course.

@mattgemmell I may be an edge-case with tens (not quite hundreds) of bought and unread books on my Kindle waiting for their turn which may never come since I buy newer titles at an even faster rate.
